Criminal and Civil Litigation

Attorney Debbie Hines is an experienced trial lawyer who handles criminal defense and civil litigation matters for her clients. Debbie’s extensive trial work has taken her to court rooms across the country. Presently, she practices in courts in the District of Columbia, federal and in Superior Court and in most counties in the State of Maryland including administrative hearings in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

During Covid-19/Coronavirus, if your business experiences economic loss and the business maintains an insurance policy to cover business interruption loss, please contact our office to discuss this issue or any other business contract issues.

Criminal Law

As a former Baltimore City prosecutor, Debbie Hines understands the ins and outs of criminal law and the criminal justice system. Having worked as a misdemeanor and felony prosecutor and in the Grand Jury unit, she is fully capable of defending clients charged with a crime. Whether it is one’s first experience with the criminal justice system or a subsequent encounter, as a criminal defense trial lawyer, she provides her clients with the best possible legal defense and representation. She is licensed in Washington, DC and Maryland, including District of Columbia federal court and the Supreme Court of the U.S. Misdemeanors, felonies and grand jury matters require the utmost experience and attorney dedication when one’s liberty is at stake.

Personal Injury

Before opening her boutique law practice, Ms. Hines worked for several law firms in Washington, DC and Baltimore where she successfully litigated and settled cases involving injury to persons due to the negligence of another person or company, often resulting in monetary amounts of six and seven figures. Currently, she handles serious personal injury matters involving all types of accidents.

Family Law

Family law issues can be challenging for anyone dealing with domestic violence, divorce, separation, child custody or child support issues. Having a knowledgeable but empathetic and understanding attorney will help to ease the uncertainty of the legal process while going through a personal family legal crisis. Ms. Hines handles family law matters in Washington, DC and in most counties in Maryland.

In these times of Covid-19/Coronavirus, if you are the victim of domestic violence, please contact our office immediately.

Administrative Hearings

Many legal issues are not handled in court but in an administrative hearing before an administrative law judge in Maryland and the District of Columbia. However, they are often as serious as ones occurring in local or federal courts. Many administrative hearings involve forfeiture of professional or business license and one’s livelihood, animal cruelty laws or alcohol beverage license issues, to name a few. Facing the potential loss of a professional or business license with the attendant loss of income or the confiscation of a beloved pet can be as stressful as if one’s liberty were at stake. Having a competent attorney by your side is an asset. These administrative hearing matters require swift actions to preserve one’s rights. Be careful to avoid delay when contacting an attorney.
